Astra Games has a reputation for quality and innovation dating back to 1992. In the autumn of 2004, the Bridgend-based company consolidated its position as a major force in the international gaming industry by becoming part of the
world-renowned Novomatic Group of Companies.
From the start, Astra has broken new ground in machine design. The company pioneered the multiplayer concept, followed by sit-down multiplayers and video multiplayer products. And despite being much imitated, Astra machines remain market leaders.
The twin pillars of Astra’s success are its employees and the strength of its partnerships both domestically and overseas.
The Astra team combines experience with youth and enthusiasm. The result is bright, new ideas – which work.
Embrace change and move forward
2007 has been quite a year for Astra Games and our partners. The introduction of both the Gambling Act and the smoking ban in the UK, and a wave of either impending or implemented legislative shifts throughout Europe, has driven change and created many opportunities. Capitalising on these opportunities has been foremost in our minds, working diligently with Astra’s partners in each of the key markets to develop market specific cabinets and games to take product into the future.
Even though the year has been indelibly linked with “change”, there are number of constants that Astra has endeavoured to maintain: a constant drive to develop, a constant drive for improvement and a constant aim to exceed expectations in all areas. A clear example of this philosophy is the invention and appeal of the Category C and B3 product presented on the Astra stand, a range of machines that is testament to the devotion Astra’s development team have for creating games that not only innovate, but do so in a manner that appeals to players both old and new.
Astra’s strength as an internationally recognised brand has been cemented by the growing list of successful games in each of Astra ten key markets – Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain and Belgium – success that has been born from the huge amount of creative thought that has been invested in games for all of the export markets. By mixing knowledge gained from one market with game concepts from another, Astra have made remarkable advancements in game concepts and machine technology across the export product range, a trend that will continue in 2008.
As always, Astra like to begin each year with resounding proclamation of the company’s desire for progressing games and technology in all of the key markets. 2008 will follow in this tradition, launching strong, forward looking games that we believe will drive the industry forward in a positive manner. The environment created by Astra’s two parallel stands at ATEI is perfect for viewing what we believe is Astra’s most impressive range of games to date, enforcing the brand values of quality, innovation and service. |
